Looking for Baja Peninsula Driving Information
« on: September 20, 2012, 02:34:20 PM »
Glad to see this forum is back up and running. I am thinking of taking the wife and two sons down the Baja peninsula. Can someone answer a couple questions?

-Can I drive to La Paz in two days?
-Lodging recommendations in Loreto?

Thanks, T

Hey T,

Welcome to the board. Driving with your family to La Paz is not doable. It's too far. A more reasonable, but long drive is to make Guerrero Negro or even a little farther San Ignacio (my choice).

As far as Loreto, I just stayed at the Oasis Hotel on the beachfront. There are other options too.

Have fun, take it easy on the driving and enjoy the scenery!

Depends on how early you get started each day... if you want to drive in the dark (not recommended)... and how long the sun is up! Two days is stretching it, but it has been done... just not any fun.

There are many other places to stay but Hotel Angra is nice. If you find a safe place for car parking then The Santa Fe is best choice it is a fairly big and a good place to stay.

Has anybody been to either La Paz or Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on the Baja Peninsula?
