Reefer has a spectacular aura about
Default Snowbirds in Mexico

We live in the cold winters of the midwest. We are about 6 years out from retiring and are starting to think about, and looking at, places to snowbird Jan - May. Arizona & Florida of course come to mind. We have been to Mexico three times and are considering looking into snowbirding there. Just wondering how many of you may be out there and if you could give us ideas as to where to snowbird and if there is information on rentals or even if it is a good idea to purchase a condo...Thanks in advance. The cold here is starting already - yikes!!!

Default Retiring in Mexico

Hola Reefer -

There's a large and growing ex-pat community in Mexico. Here in Los Cabos, we are several thousand strong. I have only been to Cancun, Cozumel, Mexico City, Chiapas and Cabo but because of my interest in and love of outdoor activities, I chose to live in Cabo. It's got perfect weather ranging from 60s and 70s in the evening to 80s and 90s during the day, with sunny skies and low humidity and maybe a few days of overcast skies and even fewer days with rain. It NEVER gets cold here. You can easily find places to rent for the season. Take a look at www.mexonline.com/cabo-realestate-rentals.htm for starters. It's a buyer's market now and anyone's guess what will happen in the future, but I would advise you to rent before buying and give yourselves the opportunity to scope out the towns, the ambiance and areas to live before committing. Good luck to you!
