Mexican R and B has a spectacular aura about
Default Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort

Hello
My name is Barbara Hunter Cox and I moved to San Miguel May lst. I have been working for the last 8 years at a private foundation -- the Foundation for the Mid South. We are located in Jackson Mississippi and serve Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Our region has been devastated and needs assistance, that is why I am sending this post.

Our Foundation has established a fund specifically for Hurricane Katrina relief. You can get the information by visiting our website located at www.fndmidsouth.org

If you are interested in donating and want to get your donation to me I will send it on to the Foundation and assure you that you will get a receipt for tax purposes. I can be reached at bhuntercox@hotmail.com. Some people desire a personal contact around donations and others could just donate online.

For your assistance, here is a portion of the announcement:The staff and the board of directors of the Foundation for the Mid South offer our prayers and condolences to all those who have lost or suffered during the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
A CALL TO ACTION :: It is a social imperative to dramatically increase the amount of financial resources, volunteerism, and goods available to the organizations working to save human life, reduce widespread suffering, and rebuild the communities along the Gulf Coast. This page contains a list of ongoing relief efforts and their contact information for your convenience.

9-1-05 >>> The Foundation for the Mid South has established the Hurricane Katrina Recovery and Restoration Fund to benefit those impacted by the disaster and the forthcoming recovery efforts. 100% of the contributions made to the Fund will benefit nonprofits in the Mid South, particularly in Southern Louisiana, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and the Alabama Gulf Coast, working to rebuild the lives and communities of those affected by the disaster.
>>> Donate online for the Hurricane Katrina Recovery and Restoration Fund. Checks should be made out to the Foundation for the Mid South with HKRRF noted in the memo line of the check and mailed to Foundation for the Mid South, 134 East Amite Street, Jackson, MS 39201.
*** If you would like to specify exactly how you would like your contribution to be used, contact Liz Brister, Development Director directly (lbrister@fndmidsouth.org cell number 601-397-2865), or you can use the comments field online to specify which organization(s), area(s), or recovery effort(s) you would like to benefit from your gift
