We want to spend a few weeks in San Miguel de Allende. Can someone tell us the best way to get there? Should we fly to Mexico City and rent a car or what is the best way.
Thanks, Darlene Harrison you can email me at grandmads@charter.net |

If you are going to fly, you might want to avoid Mexico City and fly to San Luis Potosi (SLP) which is closer and an easier drive to San Miguel de Allende. Another option might be to fly to Leon and spend some time in Guanajuato on the way to San Miquel de Allende.
Plug in your departure and some of those destinations to see the options on your favorite internet site for flights. If you are driving from the US, take 82 to Saltillo and 57 past SLP, then 110 and 51 to San Miquel de Allende.

read this:
http://www.terrazassanmiguel.com/ground_transport.html rental cars are expensive here, so the bus might be a better option. The bus system here is really nice, forget Greyhound, these things are classy. |

A good option is to fly into the Leon airport and take this shuttle to San Miguel:
