Question Lodging recommendation San Miguel de Allende

Would appreciate any feedback. My husband and I are planning our first trip to San Miguel de Allende, and want to stay in a vacation rental. Some of the choices are: Casita Henry, La Ruina, Casita Carmen. If you have any experience with these or any other rentals in the Centro area, would appreciate a recommendation. Thanks!

Default Vacation Rental in San Miguel de Alllende

Suggestion:
Check the website <PortalSanMiguel.com>. Near the bottom of the page on the right is a site advertising vacation rentals through an agency, complete with photos.

Default Vacation Rental San Miguel

Thanks for the website link. We checked this site along with others, and are hoping someone might have personal experience with any of the rental places I mentioned, or others they could recommend. They all seem nice, but difficult to make a choice sight unseen.

You did not mention what your price range was and was ammenities you require. When I was making my choices, all this made a big difference in where I went.
Give us some more info.

Thumbs up Casa Carmen is nice

Last time I was in San Miguel (two years ago) we stayed at the Casa Carmen just a block from the the main square. It's a bed and breakfast place but they will offer a discount for longer stays. It's one of those places that don't look like much from the outside but when you open those huge wooden doors there is a beautiful plant filled court yard inside. Everything was perfect except...(is it me or are all the beds in Mexico hard. I've travled in many places in Mexico and all the hotel seem to have hard beds. Really hard beds). The price was about $80 US per night, included breakfast and a huge lunch meal.
