Default Unresolved Tragedy at Occidental Grand Xcaret

It is every citizens’ right to be aware of the unnecessary deaths of tourists, particularly children while vacationing in the Riviera Maya. It should be the right of all citizens to know the increased safety and security issues in the area when Mexico reaps the benefits of 20 million North American tourists annually. Resorts, particulary in the Riviera Maya need to enforce safety standards for all resorts/hotels as a means to prevent such senseless and unnecessary deaths. Brent Midlock's life was tragically stolen by the negligence and incompetence of the operators of the Occidental Grand Xcaret, outside of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. To date, the U.S. and Mexican Governments have not taken any action toward the resolving a growing issue. Providing details of such atrocities is important in the mission to save lives of innocent vacationers. Please read www.brentmidlock.com

I am sorry for any tragic death of a child - I lost a 14 year old daughter 2 years ago but that is not a topic for this board and I doubt you can blame the death of anyone on a country, however tragic the facts. A country is a people, a culture and a destination and here we discuss Mexico and our experiences there. This is not the way to grieve - believe me that I know...

I'm so sorry, Baja. Fourteen is a wonderfully frustrating age.
