Hey - I'm just about to book a holiday to cancun for next year and have been reading several books about when to visit that I'm now confused about when to go. Can some one help me? We are aware about hurricanes etc and want to obviously miss this time. HELP!!!

Default when to go to cancun

jan, feb, and march are great times in cancun.if you go late jan,24&25 come over to isla mujers and join us at the hotel vistalmar barracuda bash, hell stay on isla its much cheaper then cancun and the beach is many times better.its a lay back island and you do what you want when you want.and its only a ferry boat ride from cancun.if you like to fish.the beach, eat, drink and meet great people come on over, you won't be sorry.

The drinking, food and sun bathing sound excellent - not sure about the fishing ... haha. We still can't decide when to go. January is a bit too soon for us to go away.

In most of Mexico, mid-April to mid-June can be hot, with an ever-increasing humidity level. This is the period prior to the beginning of the rainy season. Now, the rainy season is not like that portrayed in Forrest Gump . It means that there is usually a shower each afternoon or evening. It is a good time to visit Cancun because spring break is over and summer vacations have not begun. It is a bit more calm. If you are going to be on the beach you will have a breeze most of the time and can cool off easily in the ocean, or pool at your chosen resort.

September and October can also be good times to be in Cancun, if you want to avoid the summer vacationers or the winter snow birds. Again, this is the period between really busy seasons. The downside to this is that there is the possibility of a hurricane developing just as you are packing to get on the plane for your long scheduled and anticipated vacation.

But there is really no bad time to visit Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen and the other areas along the Costa Maya. I always recommend Cozumel to friends who are finally going to venture outside the boundaries of the U. S. Heck, you just cannot let the constant broadcast of domestic terrorist tactics destroy all your fun.
