Anyone know the best driving directions from Merida to Huatulco.

I´m planning a road trip in November. I will be driving from Merida Yuc. to Huatulco Ox. Is there anyone around who has made a resent drive, and can tell me the best, and fastest route?

I haven't made that trip. However, my thought is that you take the highway up from Merida to the Istmus in Veracruz and over the Istmus to Salina Cruz on the Pacific Ocean side and then up Hwy. 200 to Huatulco.
