Default Un coronel, por fin

There are not nearly enough avatars to go around for the list of folks that will be here eventually. Is there a way to bring in one´s own?

In any event, I got to this sterling guy above first. If anybody else uses it, he will just be an ole copycat! And will deserve a bad reputation!

I picked him because he does look like me. And he has epaulets. However, I am far svelter and more attractive than this bozo. He does indeed look like a colonel, perhaps with silver or gold clusters, which is what I want to be . . . instead of a junior.

Cool

Aaah DP. I tried really hard to think of something witty and funny to respond back to your post but alas, my brain is not working properly. Maybe from too many peppers, aye? I guess I'll just be the first to acknowledge your conquest of the "portly gent" as you assume him for your online identity.

Ahhh, Ms. Camberos, that photo is just as I imagined you, a delightful Betty Boop.

Yes, well, she is a pretty good version of me,much closer in representation than you and your alter-ego, Portly Gent; a tad bit of a weight difference don't you think? teehee.

Default Emperor of the United States of America, Protector of Mexico

Good eye Tijuanero ... in fact I had never heard of Emperor Norton before, someone else in the office has. Some quick research on the 'net turned up some facinating articles about someone in the 1880s who called himself Emporer of the United States of America and Protector of Mexico.
Here's a good article if anyone is interested:

It seems we have an emperor amoung us ...

Well, OK, I have been outed. Of course, I am Emperor Norton. I have been spending part of the years since I resurrected myself back in England, turning out motorcycles.

Since my royal status has been acknowledged yet again, I want no more guff from people hereabouts when I refer to nekkid women.

You may be seated.

I hesitate to touch on matters of the flesh here because it disturbs the Boss. However, I will confess to Royal activities involving that persuasion many, many years ago. But I lived in San Francisco, and it was quite the rage. Still is, of course. I found those activities to be, uh, not bad.

However, after resurrecting myself, spending additional years making those motorcycles in England, I moved to MEXICO. There is your Mexico angle, Boss. And the ravishing appeal of Mexican lasses turned me totally around. That is the truth.

There is an interesting element in this. Mexicans, far less than norteamericanos, tend not to move far from their place of birth. More men are doing it, going to the U.S., due to economic need. But the women still stay put, generally speaking. This leads to people sharing physical attributes that become associated with their area, much like in West Virginia. They look like folks from Michoacán, for instance. Folks from other parts of Mexico will resemble others in their part of Mexico. This is very vague, of course, but in general, I have noticed it to be true.

The women in my part of Mexico are often stunningly beautiful, and this is what has turned me back around to the true path. I don´t regret it.

And, now, you may sit again. But the Emperor does not want to hear anymore out of you. This interview is closed. Permanently.

Emperor Norton

Default Avatars

So, Senor Palomares, AKA, Emperor Norton, or whatever
Did you ever get an answer on whether there will be
additional avatars, or better yet, how we can bring in
our own. I would like to be a queen someday, or an
empress too, but alas, we only have Betty Boop to
select.

Alas, my dear, I have heard nary a word on this issue. Obviously, it would be difficult to provide avatars for everyone who will eventually be here. It would be far better to let us import our own.

Maybe the boss is checking in here on occasion, and will let us know something.

Apart from that, I am Emperor Norton or, if you prefer, Don Palomares, but never, ever .... "whatever." I have guillotined people for less. Remember that.

Señor Tijuanero, I just (for the first time) read that website the Boss provided, top to bottom. And I see no mention of my being gay!

I am feeling better already.

How in the world did you come up with that scandalous accusation? From the reputation of modern-day San Francisco, perhaps? I had nothing to do with that. . . that I recall.

Stand up and explain yourself! The emperor is irked.
