I know where el desemboque is but haven't been there yet. The Sonora tourism website just explains the accomodations as "rustic". I don't know what that means but I'll make the trip in a few weeks. I live in Nogales, AZ so I'm going to try the drive!

I havent been there but there was a story in El Imparcial about this area. Apparently some European Investors are going to develop the land. Big investment. They had a picture of the beach and it looked great. As for things to do it sounded like there was nothing! I think it is just a sleepy village. What exactly were you wanting?

Hmm sleepy village and nothing to do........I'll take it

It would be closer to Nogales than Rocky Point, I think that's the main attraction, but it's also alot closer than Kino Bay and San Carlos. Now, compare Kino Bay and San Carlos to Rocky Point. To me it's simple, if this new place can capture the same atmosphere as San Carlos or Kino, we have a sure winner, that would beat Rocky Point hands down

i am headed to desemboque for some quietude and the fact that i find it difficult to find much info about it is reassuring, however, if anyone has been there and knows exactly what they mean by rustic, can you let me know? will i be camping or esta posibla to stay in a casita somewhere in the village for a few pesos? please advise if posibla.
