Red face Puerto Vallarta

I am going to PV in February, it will be my first time to Mexico. Staying at the Krystal Vallarta going AI. Once I had already booked everything, I was given advice that the Krystal wasn't a very good choice for numerous reasons. I guess what I was wondering is, if there is anyone that enjoyed staying there? Also where is the best place to go snorkeling??? Any experience or advice anyone could give would be great!!!

Don't worry

We've been to PV twice now and are also going back in Feb -- both places we have stayed (Sierra Nuevo and Melia) got some bad reviews too -- and we were quite happy with both.

I wouldn't recommend the all inclusive option. There are too many great restaurants in PV. You can find alot of them at www.vallarta-info.com.
Don't miss Trio, Le Bistro, La Palapa, Los Arbolitos to name a few.
As far as snorkeling, try Vallarta Adventures, or Chicos, they both have good trips and are pretty fun. You can also try the area of Boca Tomatlan, you can
hire a boat for the day or just for a few hours, be sure to haggle about the price! Take a few friends with you to spred out the cost. Should be about
$20 max per person for a few hours. Take the Mismaloya bus south to the last stop from the so. end of town.

Have FUN
Glenn

My husband and I have had the oppurtunity to stay in several hotels in Vallarta over the past years. I felt a response was in order here.We stayed at the Krystal last winter on our inbound trip.Fortunately we only had to stay there 3 nights before we could get into our rental unit in "old town". The Krystal was not a hotel I would recommend to anyone! Although we were as polite as possible ,the staff was rude and not helpful. Our room was full of black mold, the air conditioner sounded like a 747 taking off and the bathroom stayed flooded for the 3 days we were there. This was our only negative experience in several years.

Thanks for your honest opinion Linda. But I was wondering what type of room you stayed in. We are staying in the new ocean club tower room.

We saw the new building while we were there. It looked very nice and it was off by itself. I dont know what "kind" of room we had. However it wasnt inexpensive. Hopefully your first trip to PV will be wonderful as well it should be.Try to get into "old town" and get the true flavor of Puerto Vallarta. So much to see and do outside of the all-inclusive hotels areas.
