I have had the opportunity to fly Avolar on several occasions to from TJ to Acapulco and Uruapan. From a flight perspective pilots have demonstrated professionalism and skill. From a customer service standpoint, well, let's just say that they are still in the learning processes. While most national airlines in Mexico will go through the passenger preflight demonstration in both English and Spanish the flight attendants on Avolar seemed to have struggled to get through just the Spanish version skipping the English altogether. To their credit it has gotten better even in the past few weeks. Other than that the flight attendants are accomodating and courteous.

A birth certificate.....Then go to the Mexican Consulate and get a Visa, about 17$. It will be good for about 6 months but when you return to Tijuana they will take it...In 2007 you will need a Passport for all travel out of the U.S. and need it to return.

This airline is a scam, I bought tickets in Feb.2008 they canceled on us, now they have been giving us the runaround about our refund. |

You probably bought the tickets using a credit card; have you contacted the card issuer and disputed the charge?

Bottom line................YOU DO NEED A PASSPORT ! Anyone that tells you different is just blowing smoke.......My daughter and I just went through what you wouldn't believe trying to get a 17 year old grandson and friends father back to TJ from Cabo. the grandson had his birth cirtificate AND an expired passport with him. It took 2-3 days. They were not even going to let him on the plane in Cobo with out a current passport in spite of all the other picture ID he had . He originglly flew a Mexican airline out of San Diego and San Diego legally should never have allowed him legally on that flight.......... finally a different airline flew them to " MEXICO CITY " Where they had a 10-12 hour layover and finally they got a flight that would take him to Tijuana. They had to pay for the extra flight to Mexico City and Mexico City to Tijuana. They had allready checked out of the hotel in Cabo. They had to find another hotel and spend the next two days figuring how to get home. They could have driven with no problem. All the problem was getting on a flight without the passport. What an unbelieveable mess.
