By Road from Taxco to Oaxaca

Please could a kind soul offer advice on road travel from Taxco to Oaxca? We are considering a hire car. I had it in mind to travel south to Pacific coast but avoiding Acapulco then following coast to smaller Oaxaca coast resort for 3 -4 days before spending 3 - 4 adys in and around Oaxaca City. Grateful for any advice or suggestions.

Tonyjackson, whom ever you are, Yes I can off a lot of suggestions as I usually do this trip every January and love every second of it. I have a fantastic place that should be a must for every traveler in Puerto Angel, Oaxaca and the route I highly recommend getting to Oaxaca City. I always drive from the San Diego area as I do not want to miss anything so that is another reason that I do know places as I do a lot of stopping. I have an idea you have all ready taken your trip as I am finding a lot of the postings are quite OLD. If you still are interested in this area or another let me know as I drive between 7 and 8 thousand mile in Mexico every year.
