Do you need to get a special car pass and special insurance coverage while travelling in Mexico? If so who do you contact and how? Thanks.

http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhcarb.html http://www.sanbornsinsurance.com/ http://www.mexicomike.com/livebetter/car_permit.htm Google is your friend! These are helpful sites and among them you should be able to find the information you need. I put "Sanborns insurance" site in because it's the one I've used - but it is NOT an endorsement or ad. CHeck around - there are plenty of online sites where you can pay and download your policy. I got my permit by mail as suggested by mexicomike. Good luck and good travels. Clio SF |

Sanborns is very expensive. Shop around, you'll save a lot.
