I plan to travel to Mexico from Australia in August and heard that it's the wet season over there. In mexico does wet season mean it constantly rains? or does it just mean that it's the peak rainfall season is? It sounds like a stupid question but in Queensland (where i'm from) the wet season means wet season it constantly rains! could anyone could help me out at all?? thankyou |

Hola Chris -
Queensland is a fabulous place. I don't know when the wet season is there, but in January when I visited, the weather was fine. Mexico is a BIG place. Where were you planning to travel? I can tell you that in Los Cabos, at the tip of the Baja peninsula, August is hot and humid and though hurricanes are possible, the sun shines brightly and the temps are in the 30s C (high 90s F) day and night. Warmest regards - Sheri

It depends on which part of Mexico you are in. The coast seems to get a fairly long rainy season and September in Mazatlan is usually very wet.
The central area of Mexico (ie San Miguel de Allende) in the mountains has rain in late Aug and Sept but it is a massive downpour and fifteen minutes later the sun is out and it is warm again. Hope this helps
