parking at cancun airport or ??

I am trying to figure out my best option for a trip that I will be taking next week and any input would be very much appreciated. I live near Progreso (Merida area) but will be flying back to the U.S. from Cancun. I will be staying 4 nights in the U.S. and then flying back to Cancun bringing back my daughter for some vacation time in Playa del Carmen/Tulum. I thought that it might be best to take my car to Cancun so that we would could use it while we are there. I am trying to figure out if this is a better option than taking a bus and then getting a rental car there. I know there are toll road fees and gas to consider, but then there is no hassle of renting. Also, does anyone know what it may cost to leave my car at the airport for 4 nights? Is there a less expensive alternative...a parking facility? hotel? etc. where I could leave it? Also, any ideas on reasonable hotels that incl. parking? Thanks so much in advance for any ideas on how you would do this?
