Nogales to Puerto Vallarta

Does anyone have info on how to get to Puerto Vallarta via passenger rail or bus? Would like to go in Oct.

I haven't taken the bus, but an older aunt of mine (80s) has taken the bus from Mazatlan to Nogales, and she found it comfortable.

This company offers different levels of service and goes to PV. I'm considering it for my next trip to Mazatlan.

From what I've heard, the bus trip going north is subject to delay for inspection. Last winter on my return (by car) I did notice at several "rest stops" that everyone was off the bus and the luggage compartments were open - some bags on the ground.
