We are snowbirds & have our FM3's but always purchase a new vehicle sticker every year when we go back to Mexico in October & turn it at the border when we leave in April. When we renew our FM3's in January, we immediatley go to the Aduana office & get a letter stating our Vehicle sticker is good for the length of our FM3's. Does that mean we really don't have to surrender the sticker at the border? We will be bringing the same vehicle back again the next season. It seems to us that if the sticker is renewed with the letter, then we shouldn't have to turn it in or buy a new one every season. Are we right in thinking this?

As long as your FM3 is valid your vehicle visa is valid, no need to turn in the car sticker unless you are not going to return with it (meaning buying another car).
