I've only been to Tesquisquiapan, a town on the eastern side of the state; Great atmosphere and views, and a nifty downtown area.

Yes, Tequisquiapan is a very lovely little city, well maintained and interesting
for a day trip, although sometimes very crowded on the weekends. It is about 45 minutes drive time from Querétaro. It is best to start early (to find good parking) when visiting for the first time. The town square has music in the evenings, almost every weekend. Querétaro is perhaps the cleanest and best maintained city in Mexico (how- ever, Puebla is a nice city also) and has several beautiful Plazas and Gardens in the Colonia Centro. It is a very easy city to see by walking about. It also boasts many new and modern shopping centers, many come from other Central Highlands cities nearby to shop here. I have friends who live in Centro who have never bothered to own a car because the city is so easy to navigate with only public transportation. Bear |
