Default Bus Transportation In Mexico

We are a family 2 adults 2 child (13 & 15) travelling to mexico for one month Dec/Jan. Is there a bus pass we could use? What is the best/cheapest way to travel through the country for us? Thank You

There is a tour agency called Bamba that offers bus passes, but I heard some disturbing reports. Here are two web site that offer schedules and prices.
https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/inicio.jsp

http://www.etn.com.mx/

And a third http://larpman.com/transportpages/transport.html

Throughout Mexico, vestiges of an uneasy balance between pre-Hispanic cultures and the Spanish conquest linger. Scenes of cathedrals built on top of ancient temples, for example, demonstrate a country born of both worlds.
In Guadalajara, famously advertised as the most Mexican of cities – birthplace of mariachis, centre of the tequila industry – evidence of indigenous cultures is no t readily seen behind the colonial and neoclassical architecture and the proudly mestizo people.

Probably by bus, Where do you live? Did you think about driving, my favorite way to travel in Mexico is with my own vehicle. Where do you have in mind spending your two months that could make a difference also. If you do travel by bus you need to keep an eye on your luggage all of the time even when the drivers tell you they are standing right there watching everything. I would be very cautous about getting the bus pass and then basically getting taken in several different ways. Best is to buy your tickets as you go. When they say they leave in 20 minutes they do not mean in 22 ! ! !
