Default Navojoa/Cd Obregon lodging w/sm dog

Buenos dias,

I'm hoping someone can refer me to a motel in/near Navojoa (preferably) or Cd. Obregon that would allow a small dog (18 lbs.) to share a room. I have checked online at the various websites, but all officially say "no pets."

Not being one to believe everything I read <g> , I'm hopeful that someone on this very helpful list knows of a place where the official rule is relaxed if the dog/owner passes muster. I have sent email notes to several places but received no reply from any.

We have no trouble finding places in the States, and my dog is an excellent guest.

We are driving again this year, San Francisco - Mazatlan to visit family. Last year we stayed at a nice RV park's "motel" in San Carlos. But staying there made for a 12-hour drive to Mazatlan (exactly 500 miles to my sister's house, but it was Xmas holiday, so every tope and toll booth had a backup.) I'm hoping to split the drive into more equal parts this year.

Thanks,
Jocelyn (ClioSF)

Default Traveling with a Pet in Mexico

I do not have first hand knowledge of a hotel in the area you are traveling but please research this website:
http://gringodog.home.comcast.net/~gringodog/pet-friendly.htm
The website lists pet friendly hotels in Mexico
Enjoy your trip

Joycelyn,

I have an incredable place I stay in Navajoa and have stayed there for nearly 40 years ! They have just re done the rooms, they are big the bathrooms are nice and there is a little restaurant by the pool that is quite good. I always cross in Nogales and stay the first night in Navajoa then if I leave about 7 , no before as it can be foggy that time of the year I am easily in Mazatlan no later that 3:30. since you are not leaving until December I will have to look up the name of the place. I can not think and have not had to because I have stayed there so many years. I think last January we paid $35-40 for two people.

I just looked at the sight someone gave you and I believe my favorite place is the Al Rancho which has much better grounds to run around on, It is before the Best Western on the same side of the road but below the highway. I have found the Best Western to be tiny but beautiful rooms, more costly and very noisy. Rene'e

Dear Greatbaseball,

Thank you so much for the informative reply, and thank you for offering to find out the name of the "other place." I also appreciate hearing about your driving-time experience. It's pretty unlikely I'd be leaving before seven - I'm a very reluctant early-riser. Not even my dog likes to be up early!

(I love this forum!)

Sincerely,
Clio_SF

Hey Greatbaseball

I'd be interested in the name and location of that hotel in Navajoa as well.

Hi - I think Rene'e posted that the place he was thinking of is Al Rancho (see #5) .
