My wife and I spend a fair bit of time in winters along the mainland pacific. We took down and left our travel trailer on the 10 year plan, ie; it can be legally left in Mexico for 10 years. Now, I should know this but I assume that the trailer is attached to my (owner) passport NOT the truck we towed it down with since in 10 years there is very little chance that I'll be driving the same truck. Our daughter and son with respective families like to fly down to join us for shorter periods and we would like to have another trailer for them. Question: are we able to take down another trailer under my wife's name (she isn't on the other ownership papers)?
Thanks. |

Don´t see why not if everything on the 1st trailer is in your name. Here is something to think about....
I was in Matemores and met a couple guys, one owned the pick up truck and the other owned the trailer. Mexico immigration wanted both to be in one name so the guys went back to Brownsville and transfered the trailer to the pick up truck owner and tried again. This is when I met them in Matemores getting their visas and away they went into Mexico....... Maybe they will want the towing vehicle to match the trailer in your wife´s name. Hmmm....

My suggestion is that you get FM-3's for both you and your wife. Also do you have a written lease agreement with the land owner?????
