We are heading south to Ajijic and would like to bring our ATV in the back of our truck. Does anyone know if an additional vehicle permit will be need for the ATV. I am worried about theft!
We also want to bring our cats. Has any one experienced any problems bringing animals into and out of Mexico? |

I don't know about the ATV, but with a vet's certificate of health issued within 10 days of crossing the border you'll have no problem at all with your cat, at least that's how it works in the Baja.

The ATV should not be a problem, they may attach it to your truck permit or they may (most likely) ignore it. If you have a title for it, bring it along just in case of questions.

We crossed the border transporting three dogs without any problems. We obtained the health certificate within 10 days of crossing: entering Mexico at Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
. The border agents did not look at the paperwork for our pets. Others have reported the paperwork was checked. And asked:if they were bringing dog food across. We did not encounter this type of concern and drove on to our location in the interior of Mexico.

you need to have a copy of the title or registration current!!! if you have not paid the registration you will not get the permit for the atv. you should purchase insurance for the atv also..... good luck
