Four of us will be driving into Mexico the end of March of 2009. I would appreciate recommendations on where to rent a car that we can drive across the border from CA down to San Ignacio. It would be preferable to be able to pick the car up in Orange County, but picking it up in San Diego would be okay. ANY information or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Mountaingirl53 |

I maybe wrong but I do not think you can drive a rental car across the border to Mexico. I believe you would have to rent a car in Mexico.

i believe that your arriving to orange county airport. you can take a taxi to the amtrack train station in irvine and that takes you to san diego... you get to see the beaches from the train. you cant rent a car in the usa and drive it to mexico. you can go through orbitz and rent a car out of the tijuana airport . so from the sandiego amtrack you take a taxi to the border and once you walk through the border there are taxis 30 feet from there that will take you to the tijuana airport. the good thing is that you will be able to get a confirmation from orbitz for the car rental. enjoy your trip.
