Thumbs down Mex Custom & Immigration Hrs Border crossings

I am returning from Mexico by car , and plan on crossing the Border at Nuevo Progresoon may 1st . May 1st is a National Holiday in Mexico. I require information
on the hours of operation for the Mexican Custom and Immigration Offices at Nuevo Progresso so I can return my Mexican vehicle Permit.

Will the Immigration and Customs office be open on May 1st at Nuevo Progreso, if not, is there another Border crossing in the Vincity that I can use.

Default May Day

There will be protests in the US on May Day. You might want to delay a day or two. I came north across the border at Nuevo Progresso on Saturday after driving from Chapala to Cd. Victoria the day before. Had lunch in NP and got 'stamped out' at customs about 4:30 and joined half the population of Texas going home across the bridge; it took 90 minutes! I think they all tanked up at 'Ay Jalisco', as we did, and also filled their tanks at Pemex; we did that too. I'm now at Super 8 in Weslaco, one exit west of FM1015, for a few days and am very anxious to get back to Chapala's tranquility. Customs at Nuevo Progresso is normally open 9-5 weekdays; I'm not sure about holidays, but imagine they may be open. If not, there is a hotel in NP; Senorial, or you could proceed to either Reynosa or Matamoros which are always open.
