I spend a lot of time traveling through Mexico (especially Acapulco, Juarez, DF, Toluca, Tijuana). I am always looking for places to dance that would be
- cheap entry (preferably no cover/admission charge or drink minimum) - casual attire - friendly people - right sized crowd (not too many, not too few) - peaks early (I don't want to wait until after midnight for the place to start hopping) I like most kinds of music: cumbia, reggaeton, country, classic rock, hip hop (anything but nortena, ranchera). Which clubs do you think would meet these criteria? |

StrykerGT2001: I have been through Puebla and noticed a lot of nice clubs, but you are right, they are later in the evening, and the ones I saw seemed to cater to a glitzy, young, affluent crowd.
In many Mexican cities, there is a lot of dance club activity Sunday afternoons and early evenings. Anything like that close to downtown Puebla? |

In puebla, you can try Los Sapos. It is maybe 1 block south and 3 blocks east of Zocalo. A lot of live music there. Also along Av. Juarez and in the La Paz neighborhood there are a lot of places that come and go. There also used to be some places near the malls.
I lived in puebla from 1999-2002, so names of clubs have changed. Los Sapos and Av. Juarez are where I hangout with friends when I go back and I am usually home by 2am. |
